Skin Prepping for Flawless Makeup Application
Do you die a little every time you see that airbrushed model puckering her pink, glossy lips, and her skin looking as if it’s never had a scratch before? I know im not the only one! Clear skin is something most people crave especially as the media doesn’t fail to bombard us with all these perfect skinned humans. Shrugs. While some people (like me) are fortunately blessed with great facial skin that experience little to no breakouts, i am not blind to the fact that there is a vast majority of people battling with acne/breakouts on a daily.
I mean everytime i get to work with Mua’s, they never fail to mention how great my skin is (no bragging here). It makes their job easier and less concealers Lol.
With the new craze of wanting to look “snatched” or “beat for the gods”, prepping your skin before mwakeup application for a flawless finish is definitely a priority.
I always exfoilate my skin in general say every 4days or weekends. It gets rid of the dead cells which will make your makeup look cakey and thick if present. For everyday makeup (I don’t wear makeup everyday, in fact I only do during the weekends but for those who need to) , i suggest you use your facial wash. I use “Celeteque Hydration Facial Wash with Natural Moisturizing Factor” every other day. Perfect for my dry skin. Its very subtle and is really moisturizing compared to “Ponds Acne Clear Multi Action Facial foam + Scrub” that I also use regularly to fight acnes before they come. Its a very good facial wash it’s only con is that it’s too drying for my skin.
Toners are the next step after cleansing your skin. They help to restore your skins pH balance to normal most especially if you use bar soaps on your face that are known to raise the skins pH. If your skins pH is unbalanced, it can cause your makeup to wear off faster and can even cause irritations.
Don’t underestimate the use of this, the right toner can give your skin everything it needs to look fresh and healthy. I will recommend water based Toners. Those are the only goods ones for your skin. Avoid Toners that contain alcohol & witch hazel extract (especially if you have sensitive/Breakout prone skin).
I use “celeteque hydration alcohol free toner with witch hazel extract” it’s works fine with my skin but I’m still in search of one without the extract so if you know tell me biko!
Use a moisturizer that suits your skin type and offers day-long hydration. This will plump up your skin, providing a smooth, even surface for makeup application. A little goes a long way! Remember to use a moisturizer with SPF or apply sunscreen afterward.
I used to use normal lotion on my face before oo & I was just fine Lol but I needed something more moisturizing because I can’t over emphasize how dry my facial skin is. Recently I’ve moved to “Celeteque Facial Moisturizer with Triple Moisturizing System” it’s AMAZING!! Does my skin feel plump after use, OMG yes! I can definitely tell the difference.
Now it’s time to get beat. Prime that face up with a good primer that works for your skin. For people with dry skin like me, using a primer is still essential. It helps erase all those fine lines ruining your slay.
I use “Elf Mineral Infused Face Primer” and “L O L Face Primer” . They both work well for my skin.
