Vintage Vibes

vintage blazer, styling a vintage blazer, vintage skirt, how to style a skirt, silver shoes, silver purse

Hey fam, in the previous post i shared 7 blazer looks for inspiration and today i’m wearing a blazer so yes i was definitely inspired by that post and you can check it out here.

Don’t be surprised you are not the only one that likes to read a good blog.

I got this blazer last year from a thrift shop aka okrika, bds whichever you know it as for just 500 naira and since then i never wore it, i just added it to one of the many box warmers i’ve.
The blazer has a vintage look to it; the shoulder pads, hidden buttons, color and those were the elements that drew me to it.
I just never found a way to style it that i was happy with and being in a bigger size didn’t help it’s case.

Well in the spirit of wearing all the clothes i’ve never worn, i decided to start with this blazer and paired it with this skirt i also got last year and haven’t worn.
“Sogie you tucked in a blazer, is that right ? ” sweetheart you can do whatever you want with your clothes and the material is quite light so it was no bother at all.

I didn’t plan to look so vintage but the vintage life found me, and after trying it here and here i am definitely a fan the look.

No it’s not a trend wearing my clothes a year later, i probably don’t find a way to style it, did’t find an occasion to wear it or it was too big for me.
I sometimes under-estimate my size and buy a piece, my thought process usually falls within “sogie there’s no way this wouldn’t size you, i’m sure it would be too small” and ending with me finding out i can swim inside it when i finally try it. This skirt is such an example, hence why i’ve not worn it since last year, was quite surprised i could wear it without a belt.

Paired it with silver shoes and purse that i bought recently from my mum’s wardrobe, i recently went shopping in her closet and i’m quite pleased with my finds.

What do you think of the look?
Do you have clothes you’ve never worn for one reason or the other?
Well challenge yourself this day and start wearing them, you could keep off buying new pieces till you go through the one’s you have or better still give them out.
Style formula: Blazer + skirt + purse + heels
Lots of love,
Sogie.

Sometimes, I don't believe in spending much on a particular dress or item., be expensive doesn't mean it will fit. I have some clothes I got for that amount or even less like N400 and they look very nice and one may think I bought it at an expensive shop, na bend down boutique, lol…

Girl I love the way your glasses made you look and those shoes are beautiful..

That jacket is so pretty. Vintage is everything.
Blends with the skirt, and the glasses pretty much wraps it all together so well.
Not so into heels generally, but it goes with the entire outfit too–well put together!

I have clothes I'd never worn and its due to various reasons, impulse buys, wrong sizes and sometimes just not feeling the clothes in the end. It may be time for a closet sale. I love the skirt, the pop of red from the blazer is cool. Yes to tucking in blazers and I love the incorporation of Metallics in this look.

This look stole my heart right from IG. Everything looks so darn good on you. And whoever thought a blazer could be tucked in! This has gingered me to ransack my box and try to wear some abandoned clothes in different ways.

I used to have clothes I didn't wear but blogging has encouraged me to try them out. I love the metallic purse and shoes. And who would have thought, a blazer and a maxi skirt, great combo, Sogie!
